Yukon's Executive Presbyter Rev. Curtis Karns recently wrote an inspiring post about the theology of earth care on the Presbytery of Yukon blog. He reminds us of the importance Jesus placed on responsibility for leadership. With this in mind, it is our responsibility to be leaders in earth care. Rev. Karns explores this and other of Jesus's teachings in relationship to our call to earth care. Read the blog for more interesting thoughts on earth care.
This is a very good challenge.
Armed with Walter Brueggemann's view of SOLIDARITY (he was at my Church this past weekend)in new orientation, I actually see how my own ideas, I had thought were rather somewhat different, are actually part of the already ready to go vision in wwjd. I plan on trying to investigate answers through each of the ethical norms in the 1990 document. Regardless of funding, my own special project as SCE is moving forward as Lehr Brisbin has agreed to host a youth trip to Camp Fellowship (about a dozen from NY going to SC) that Janet Hansen suggested I organize after hearing of my own idea.
I have started to create a website here
