In a few months we'll observe the tenth anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. This year, that anniversary happens to fall on a Sunday. Several of us at the Presbyterian Center have been meeting to collect and prepare resources for congregations to use on and around that date.
What did your congregation do on Tuesday, September 11, or Sunday, September 16, 2001? What Scriptures did you read? What did you sing? How did you pray?
And what (if anything) do you plan to do this year to mark this tenth anniversary?
Thanks David! I am going to reblog to Swords into Plowshares and various Peacemaking and Presbyterian Ministry at the UN pages.

Could the PDA resource for the anniversary of September 11th be posted online?
Carolyn Winfrey Gillette wrote "God, We've Known Such Grief and Anger" for the first year anniversary at the request of PDA. It continues to be used after many disasters. We heard from a Baptist church in Georgia planning to use it in response to the tornadoes that hit the American South. The text is online at http://www.pcusa.org/resource/god-weve-known-such-grief-and-anger/

Thanks, Bruce. I will be sure that the PDA resource and Carolyn's hymn are included in the materials we are collecting.
