As we work on the next farm bill, it's important to teach people of the mistakes our churches and other organizations made in work on the 2008 farm bill. This article correctly identified problems, but the policy cause and solution is wrong. Subsidies are not the policy cause the low prices, (in spite of what WTO claims). I prove this 4 ways in my 2-part YouTube video, "Michael Pollan Rebuttal," and at my blog page. The policy cause is the lack of price floors and supply management, which we had in earlier farm bills, when no subsidies were needed. The National Family Farm Coalition champions the solution today, with the Food from Family Farms Act.
