Join one of the Presbyterian Hunger Program (PHP) "Food Justice for All" webinars!
PHP will be hosting a series of learning calls/webinars to explore ways that congregations around the country are growing community by alleviating hunger and connecting healthy local food to people and communities with little access. The webinars will detail proven faith-based initiatives like summer-feeding programs, community gardens, farmers markets, tactics for getting local produce in food pantries and kitchens, and other models for linking people with healthy and local food.
In our "What Congregations are doing to build Just and Sustainable Food Economies" sessions, PHP and our partners from around the nation will provide examples of successful faith-based hunger-relief and food-security projects, as well as provide advice and best practices from first hand experience on how to work within congregations to build such programs. This session will be offered on three seperate occasions as it will focus on the basic nuts and bolts for organzing faith-based food security projects in your community!
In our "Growing Community through Local Food" session, PHP and our national partners will focus attention to building congregational communities and building food security through projects like Farmer's Markets, Community Supported Agriculture, and Community Gardens.
Lastly, but certainly not least, the "SNAP Outreach and Summer Feeding Programs" will provide a focused attention to faith-based and community partnerships to alleviating hunger by connecting those in need with successful USDA programs.
